Women & Child Welfare

Preventing child labor, promoting women’s rights, providing legal aid, and supporting women’s empowerment through skills training and economic opportunities.

Development Programme Initiative (DPI) has taken a series of welfare schemes for women and children in Bangladesh, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment through targeted interventions. DPI ensures balanced representation by considering male-female ratios when selecting beneficiaries, with a special focus on empowering females. In the Education Development Project, almost half of the targeted students are female, receiving tailored care, support, and incentives to enhance their educational engagement. These efforts include providing knowledge and resources to reduce dropout rates, prevent early and child marriage, and raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health. Female students also benefit from doctor or specialized consultation support, alongside additional assistance for widowed and elderly women, pregnancy care, and comprehensive legal support to address their unique challenges.

For children, DPI prioritizes safety and protection, implementing measures to combat child labor and minimize education dropouts. The organization creates a nurturing environment where children receive guidance and resources to stay in school, protecting them from exploitation while promoting their overall well-being and development, through active consultations with parents & teachers.

DPI further empowers women through entrepreneurship development, offering support to start and sustain businesses, moving beyond traditional aid to build resilience. The organization mobilizes innovative schemes that encourage self-reliance, providing training, mentorship, and access to markets. This holistic approach enhances women’s economic independence, strengthens community resilience, and ensures sustainable growth, aligning with DPI’s commitment to gender equity and child welfare.
