Social Services & Humanitarian Response

Supporting disaster-affected populations, raising awareness on child marriage, dowry, and drug abuse, and extending rehabilitation services for vulnerable groups, including the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWD).

Development Programme Initiative (DPI) delivers critical social services and humanitarian response to support vulnerable populations across Bangladesh. The organization aids disaster-affected communities by providing immediate relief, such as food, shelter, and medical supplies, and facilitates long-term recovery through rehabilitation efforts. DPI raises awareness on pressing social issues, including child marriage, dowry, and drug abuse, through community education campaigns to foster positive behavioral change. Additionally, DPI extends rehabilitation services tailored to the needs of vulnerable groups, including the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWD), ensuring they receive specialized care and support to rebuild their lives.

A notable example of DPI’s humanitarian efforts occurred during the 2022 floods in Sylhet, where the team actively reached out to affected families and individuals. Through these initiatives, DPI strengthens community resilience and promotes equitable support for all, aligning with its mission of sustainable and inclusive development.
